Shore Based Double Reloader System

Shore Based Double Reloader System

The D.R. (Double Reloader) system consists of two tanks that alternate between being filled by vacuum and emptied by pressure. When the first reloader tank is full, the vacuum valve closes, and the vacuum valve to the second tank open. The second tank is then filled while at the same time the first tank is emptied to recieving silos by means of compressed air. In this way a nearly continous conveying process is achieved.

This system requires a special construction on the bottom of the cargo holds creating a slope towards the suction point from where it is sucked into the reloader. The tanks will discharge directly to the silo. The important point of this system is that it gives a unique guarantee for completely dust-free unloading, as the transport is sealed all the way to the silo. This is the original Carlsen system. A continous pipeline from the bottom of the ship to the top of the silo.
